Thank you, Jesse. I don't want to live in that type of world either. While we need systems to rehabilitate people that display a pattern of dangerous behavior, and to protect those they might harm, we also need compassion and understanding to be integrated into that system, and into society as a whole. As Seneca wrote: “Let’s be kind to one another. We’re just wicked people living among wicked people. Only one thing can give us peace, and that’s a pact of mutual leniency.”

I'd replace "wicked" with "traumatized, ignorant, and sometimes selfish"...but wicked is more pithy :)
